Our History
Laurence Henderson founded the practice in May 1969 and the current Principal, Anthony Nicholls, took over in March 2001, having worked there since 1983. He changed the business name to Henderson Nicholls & Associates (HNA) at this time.
During its history, the practice has operated from premises in Dalgety House at 111 Eagle Street, 444 Queen Street and the Brisbane Club Tower in Adelaide Street. HNA moved to 371 Queen Street in April 2006.
In May 2008, HNA took over Ian Shaw Chartered Accountant.

Anthony Nicholls - PRINCIPAL
Anthony commenced his career with Laurence Henderson Chartered Accountant in 1983. He took over the firm in 2001 and now has over 32 years experience in the public accounting profession.
He is a Fellow with the Institute of Public Accountants, a Fellow and Chartered Tax Adviser of the Tax Institute of Australia, a Member of the National Tax and Accountants Association and a Registered Tax Agent.
Anthony is married to Trish and has three adult children.

Rod Ferguson - PRACTICE MANAGER
Rod commenced his accounting career in Gosford NSW before joining Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers) as business services accountant in their Darwin and Cairns offices.
Rod was partner in a public practice in Cairns for five years before joining HNA in 2002 as Practice Manager.
Rod is a member of CPA Australia, Tax Agent, Registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund auditor, JP(Qualified) who specialises in taxation, superannuation, property development, retirement villages, licensed clubs, primary producers, business valuations plus estate planning.
Rod is married to Carmen with two sons.

Danelle Boyce - OFFICE MANAGER
Danelle commenced with HNA in January 2009. She has many years of experience within an accounting environment and enjoys being part of an office team. She assists with a range of functions including client queries, bookkeeping and supports the Accountants in the practice.
Danelle completed her bookkeeping certification in 2014 and is a member of the AAT. She is currently studying for an Associate Degree of Business with the University of Southern Queensland.
